COVID-19 Update

Phased reopening of the Dome to start October 3rd.

To all valued participants and spectators of the Dome, We’d like to thank you for your patience during this hectic time. For 22 years we at the Dome have always tried to keep the best interest of our guests in mind. With this being said we have decided  to start our phased reopening of activities at the Dome.  We have been using this time to prep our outdoor fields for use in finishing our winter season starting October 3rd. We cut the grass and lined 2 fields outdoors to add to our indoor fields so we can provide proper spacing when running games.  These times will have everyone adopting new ways to keep us all safe. We will not be offering bleachers for guests and we ask only 1 parent accompany their child and the parent will be required to wear a mask. Coaches are being contacted and will be given game time shortly. You can monitor this page for updates as more info becomes available.

Thanks Ed & Susie

About our playing fields

The Wyoming Valley Sports Dome offers up to six fields for seasonal play. During inclement weather, the air structure, referred to as “The Dome,” offers a 76,000 sq ft. temperature controlled, open air experience for players and spectators.

The air structure covers three separate playing fields and provides teams the opportunity to play in all weather conditions while still playing in actual open air. The playing surface, Fieldturf®, is a non abrasive turf that simulates real grass and gives a true roll and bounce to all sports balls.

During non-inclement weather, three additional uncovered playing fields are available for teams and spectators. The playing surface is a blend of natural grasses specific for natural grass fields. These fields are maintained and cared for through every season to provide the best experience for coaches, players and spectators.

Why we’re different

The Wyoming Valley Sports Dome air structure was constructed in 1998 and is still considered one of the most unique buildings in Northeastern Pennsylvania. “The Dome” is held up by constant flowing fresh air, brought in through filtered fans. These fans also control the temperature of the air flowing into the building from the outside, unlike commercial HVAC units that maintain and recirculate stagnant air. This feature prevents mold and debris buildup within the structure and allows for a very comfortable open air feel because it is actual outside air.
